Waxed Copper / H850 W150 L1100mm / 110kgs / Unique Piece / September 2018

The CB01 bench is a sculptural composition made of four brushed copper bars, assembled together with tempered steel bolts.

This work is part of a series exploring the forms and archetypes generated by industrially produced elements.
The design of the object - rather than being based on classical human measurements - originates from the norms of the material itself. Each of the four plates is cut from standardised flat copper bars and when assembled together they create a functional structure resembling the primary form of a bench. This different perspective has the purpose to generate a new typology of object, functional but at the very edge of inadequacy, in which proportions and connections are being given a central role.
