Elder consists of a set of three objects dedicated to the elderly. They are an attempt at breaking the cliches associated with old age by proposing transgenerational designs meant to provide the user with more pride and sensory joy. The kitchen knife is entirely made out of steel and designed to be held while seating, providing the user with a stronger grip and a more comfortable angle for the wrist.
This knife is the result of an intense research into the inherent properties of steel. Through forging and tempering processes the form of the object was reduced to its functional essence. This symbiosis between form, material and function permitted to escape the archetypes of such product and generate a design in which all parts are integral to the whole.
